Cook - Temporary

Work Schedule:
Days: Wed-Wed (off Sat/Sun
Hours:7:30AM-4:00pm (30 min lunch)
Pay: $19.29-$20.00/hour
 

This position is eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.

All employees may also make pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan – must be 18 years of age to participate.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Food and Nutrition Services Cook will prepare, cook, season, and serve adequate, attractive, nutritious, and balanced meals.

Meals prepared include meat, fish, fowl, vegetables, fruit, soups, salads, desserts, breads, and pastries, as specified and scheduled by the menus.

The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.  

 JOB DUTIES:


* Food Preparation: Efficiently chop, chop, prep, and cook menu items (appetizers, entrees, salads) based on recipes and station requirements.


* Kitchen Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, adhering to all food safety and health regulations.


* Inventory & Setup: Set up stations with necessary tools and ingredients; restock items, label, and store food properly.


* Team Collaboration: Assist other team members to ensure smooth service during peak hours.


* Operational Efficiency: Operate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment (e.g., ovens, grills, fryers)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior Cook experience is preferred

Education:


* A High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:


*  Previous experience as a dishwasher is preferred.

Other:


* Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
