We have a brilliant opportunity to join our fantastic Home Group Supported Redcar Services.

We are the multi skilled hands-on practical support that helps our colleagues deliver services to our customers.  

We work with customers who have Learning Disabilities, Mental Ill Health and/or Physical Disabilities, across a mix of properties and grounds.

As our handy person you’ll spend much of your time working across our Redcar and Saltburn Supported Living Services, Grosmont Close, Queen Street, Pearl Street and Redcar Community Services. 

What you’ll do


* Perform minor or emergency repairs, decorating and cleaning in properties and communal areas.


* Handle tasks like hanging curtain poles, moving furniture, touching up paint, changing washers, unblocking sinks, mowing lawns and clearing grounds. 


* Carry out regular fire safety checks.


* Work with colleagues, contractors and customers.


* Liaise with Customer Service Centre and contractors to report and follow up on repairs outside your remit.

You have


* A team player with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm.


* General maintenance know-how, a bit of carpentry, basic plumbing and confidence with a paintbrush or broom   


* Comfortable working and communicating with people from all walks of life. 


* Ability to use technology for online training, booking systems and basic computer skills, such as navigating business emails 


* To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes.

Job details 


* The job will mainly work Monday - Friday 9-5, but we’re flexible as long as we meet our customer’s needs.


* You'll be based at Grosmont Close and travel around the properties in our Redcar/Saltburn Patch.


* Occasionally you'll head outside the patch for all hands-on deck situations.


* You’ll need a Standard DBS check; we pay for it.
