Outpatient Physical Therapist

Purpose:
 
Following a medically prescribed physical therapy program, this position evaluates, treats and educates pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients who have disabilities, traumatic injuries, pain, disease or any dysfunction.

 The Physical Therapist helps patients reach maximum performance and assume a place in their community.

 
 
Education and Experience Requirements: 

•    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited physical therapy school.
•    PREFER: Master’s Degree or DPT Degree.
•    PREFER: One (1) year of work-related experience.
•    PREFER: One to two (1-2) years’ experience with electronic medical record. 
•    PREFER: One to two (1-2) experience in orthopedics, neurological and vestibular disorders. 
 
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:
 
•    Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
•    Willingness to extend self as needed to meet the needs of the patient and department.
•    Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy procedures and equipment allowing for safety and maximum patient benefits. 
License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:
•    Active New York State Physical Therapist License or eligible with a temporary permit.

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk
