Cryovac Lead

Position Summary

Responsible for supervising and guiding a team of machine operators in the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of food production processes.

This position ensures the proper functioning of machinery, compliance with safety and sanitation standards, and alignment with production goals.

The Group Leader serves as a frontline leader, coordinating day-to-day activities, troubleshooting equipment issues, and fostering team development to meet operational objectives.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise, lead, and support a team of machine operators to meet daily production targets.

• Ensure proper setup, operation, and shutdown of production equipment in accordance with company protocols and safety standards.

• Assign tasks and monitor employee performance, providing coaching and feedback to support continuous improvement.

• Conduct regular equipment inspections and coordinate with maintenance teams to address mechanical issues promptly.

• Oversee compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and food safety regulations.

• Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and downtime documentation.

• Implement and enforce safety policies, conducting toolbox talks and contributing to a culture of safety.

• Collaborate with other departments to support smooth workflow and resolve production challenges.

• Support training and onboarding of new operators, promoting skill development and cross-training opportunities.

• Identify areas for process improvement and participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.

Experience & Skills

• 1-3 years of experience in related field is preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operation in a manufacturing setting.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to analyze problems, think critically, and implement effective solutions.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Education

• High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience is required.

Work Environment

• Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role).
