Automation and Controls Engineer

Schneider Electric is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as Automation Controls Engineer at our Lexington, KY location.

What will you do?


* Create automated equipment/machine specifications which includes end of line test equipment.


* Work with internal and external stakeholders to design and deploy assembly lines, including automated and testing equipment.


* Develop, deploy, and debug PLC and HMI programs for automated equipment.


* Integrate machines and assembly lines into the plants' digital manufacturing execution systems.


* Integrate new technologies into existing manufacturing assembly lines for improving efficiency and quality robustness.


* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement new hardware and software solutions.

Who will you report to? Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?



* Bachelor's degree in electrical, Computer, Robotics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required.


* Strong electrical, controls and system integration knowledge.


* Proficiency in Schneider Electric PLC programming, including:



* Proworx (Quantum), Control Expert (M340 and M580 platforms)

Familiarity with Schneider VFDs.

Robotics experience with Yaskawa Motoman robots,


* 5+ years of experience in automation industry, including experience in the medium to high-speed metal stamping process is preferred.


* Strong working knowledge of SmartPAC Pro systems from Wintriss, preferred.


* Technical installation and troubleshooting skills for the WPC 2000 control board.


* Ability to read and create AutoCAD drawings
