Napa Valley Care Center is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical team and drive exceptional care for our residents.

We're looking for a strong, hands-on nurse leader who knows how to build teams, mentor nurses, and maintain high clinical standards.

This role is ideal for a DON who wants to be visible, respected by their staff, and supported by leadership.

What You'll Do

As Director of Nursing, you will oversee the entire nursing department and ensure outstanding clinical care and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing and supporting the nursing team and staffing levels
• Recruiting, hiring, and mentoring nurses and clinical staff
• Ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, high-quality care
• Developing nursing policies and clinical procedures
• Leading staff education and in-services
• Coordinating with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Supporting MDS and care planning processes
• Participating in Quality Assurance and performance improvement initiatives
• Preparing for and assisting with state surveys
• Managing department operations, reporting, and budgets
• Providing clinical support and leadership on the floor when needed

Qualifications

• Active California RN license in good standing
• BSN preferred
• 7+ years of nurse management experience preferred
• Skilled nursing facility experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and survey readiness
• Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
