CAD Integrations Developer

Responsibilities

The Altec Information Services team is seeking a CAD Automation and Integration Developer who is interested in building scalable engineering automation solutions.

This role focuses on supporting and extending SolidWorks CAD automation, PLM integrations, and supporting KBMax configurators.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys engineering automation, rule ‑ based logic, and CAD ‑ driven problem solving, while growing their technical depth over time.

This position can work from any Altec manufacturing location

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and maintain SolidWorks automation, including:


* Add-ins and customizations


* Basic SolidWorks API usage


* PLM Integration


* Support the internal KBMax development team in configurator optimization and troubleshooting


* Maintain and enhance CAD-PLM integrations

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

High School Diploma/GED Required

Bachelor's Degree (Technical Degree Preferred)
OR

2 Years Relevant Experience
REQUIRED SKILLS:


* 4 years of software development experience strongly preferred


* Programming or scripting experience (C#, VB.NET, SQL)


* Experience with rule ‑ based logic (KBMax, CPQ tools, scripting, or similar systems)


* Interest in engineering automation and scalable solutions

PREFERRED SKILLS:


* Fundamental understanding of SolidWorks modeling, configurations, and parametric design


* Prior exposure to KBMax configurators


* Exposure to SolidWorks automation (macros, templates, or introductory API usage)


* Familiarity with PLM concepts or systems (including Teamcenter)

Teamcenter experience is not required for this role.


* Familiarity with Teamcenter as an end user (check ‑ in/out, revisions, workflows)


* Awareness of how CAD data is managed within a PLM system


* Interest in learning basic PLM concepts over time
