Intern - Mechanical Engineer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities



* Support liquid cooling projects


* Support collecting & analyzing engineering data


* Thermal design and testing


* Perform miscellaneous mechanical designs.


* Perform mechanical stress analysis to support optical design.


* Document all design/testing/simulation process

Education & Experience


* Minimum rising Senior (completed 3 years by start) of Bachelor degree in science

* Majors: Mechanical Engineering


*


* Relevant coursework: Machine design, heat transfer


* knowledge in Solidworks, 3D printing, FEA


*


* Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.

Skills & Other Requirements



* Excellent written and verbal communication.


* Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.


* Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.


* Attention to detail and time management.

* Internship Duration: 10 - 14 weeks.

Working Conditions



* This role will be based on-site in Fremont, CA.


* Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.


* Cleanroom work may be needed


* Use of mechanical dimension inspection equipment

Physical Requirements



* Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.


* Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.


* Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.


* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
