Software Engineer II-Security and Privileged Access

As a Software Engineer II-Security and Privileged Access at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector-Identity and Access Management team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities


* Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications


* Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation


* Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity


* Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development


* Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems


* Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience


* Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability


* Hands-on experience in Java and Python programming language(s)


* Hands-on experience with design and Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Design Patterns


* Exposure to authentication, authorization, encryption and role and attribute based access controls (RBAC and ABAC)


* Knowledge of automation and continuous delivery methods


* Understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security


* Practical experience with cloud-native technologies and real-time messaging


* Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases within technical disciplines such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems


* Demonstrated hands-on experience with real-time messaging technologies


* Applied practical knowledge of cloud-native platforms and solutions.
