PT Switchboard Operator (Berks Heim Nursing & Rehabilitation)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Main responsibility is to answer and direct telephone calls in a polite and informative manner in a fast-paced environment. Process all inter-communication through multi-line, unlimited extension switchboard. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.

Answer and delegate incoming calls.

                                                            
2.

Perform receptionist responsibilities- greet visitors, receive packages  
3.

Perform clerical duties.                                                                                   
4.

Open/Close switchboard.

                                                                  
5.

Make Public Announcements.
6.

Receive and delegate calls regarding resident appointments.

         
7.

Check telephone bills for personal long-distance calls.

                    

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

            High School Diploma or GED

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


* Must have general computer and keyboarding knowledge.


* Possess knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment.


* Ability to speak English in a clear, pleasant voice and manner.


* Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions.


* Ability to read and sort mail.


* Ability to hear and respond with tact and courtesy to a wide variety of situations (including residents, visitors, and staff requests) in both routine and emergency situations.


* Have a pleasant and courteous personality.


* Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident and employee information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


* Ability to sit long periods of time.                                                                                


* Good hearing and speaking ability.

         


* Ability to handle stress.


* Physical presence in the office is required.
