Project Manager – Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)
Key Responsibilities
1.
Customer Program Management
• Serve as the main point of contact for assigned customers.
• Understand customer requirements, product specifications, forecasts, and expectations.
• Lead regular customer meetings, business reviews, and project updates.
2.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Drive end-to-end NPI execution, including tooling readiness, process engineering, BOM validation, DV/PV builds, and ramp-up.
• Coordinate with engineering to ensure technical issues are closed.
• Manage sample deliveries and customer approvals.
3.
Project Planning & Execution
• Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, and risk registers.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment across production, procurement, quality, and logistics.
• Track project KPIs: schedule, yield, cost, material readiness, and quality metrics.
4.
Cost & Financial Management
• Drive cost-saving opportunities with internal teams.
5.
Risk Management
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies.
• Escalate critical risks and drive closure with responsible departments.
6.
Production & Supply Chain Coordination
• Monitor production readiness: material availability, capacity, work instructions, quality plans.
• Coordinate with SCM on forecast, delivery schedules, shortages, and supplier issues.
• Support daily issue resolution and drive long-term improvement actions.
7.
Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare weekly project dashboards and executive reports.
• Maintain project documentation, contracts, customer communication logs, and KPIs.
• 3-7 years of experience in EMS, manufacturing, or technical program management.
• Hands-on familiarity with high-mix, low-volume or high-volume electronics production.
• Proven track record in NPI, PCBA, mechanical assembly, or related domains.
Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of:
o Electronics manufacturing processes (SMT, DIP, testing, box-build)
o BOM structures / AVL / ECN
o Quality systems (ISO9001, IATF16949, IPC)
o Supply chain & material planning fundamentals
Soft Skills
• Excellent communication and customer-facing presentation skills.
• Strong leadership of cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• High sense of ownership, urgency, and problem-solving capability.
• Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
