RN Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Specialist (part-time)
Performance improvement (PI) is an essential component of a Level I Trauma Center and must be a Registered Nurse.
The Trauma PI Specialist works collaboratively with the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director on clinical components of the Trauma Program.
The Trauma PI Specialist coordinates, participates, and documents trauma performance improvement activities, identifies events, expected outcomes, loop closures and plan of care for trauma patients.
This person is responsible for day-to-day performance improvement initiatives surrounding trauma patients and assuring PI compliance with the American College of Surgeon's criteria for a Level I Trauma Center.
Schedule: 20 hours per week, part-time.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates, participates, and documents trauma performance improvement activities, identifies events, expected outcomes, loop closures and plan of care for trauma patients.
Collaborates with the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Director to develop and implement policies, procedures, and care management processes to improve clinical outcomes.
Analyzes data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Ability to analyze and problem solve independently and disseminate data to relevant groups across the health system.
Participates in the preparation and completion of internal and external reports, survey documents and site visits.
Ensures the care of the trauma patient complies with current policies and guidelines.
Participates in and/or facilitates trauma PI meetings.
Acts as a liaison between all hospital departments and the Trauma Program.
Assists with Trauma Outreach education as needed.
Qualifications:
* Must hold a minimum of BSN; Master's degree in nursing or public health preferred (or enrolled in such a program).
* Must have trauma or PI experience: knowledge of trauma registry preferred.
* Five or more years experience
* Active RN license required
