Registered Dietitian (Nutritionist) - RUHS Public Health

The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Public Health Department seeks Registered Dietitian - Nutritionist to join the Temecula team.

Seeking self-motivated and adaptable individuals with outstanding customer service skills to implement, coordinate, promote, and evaluate components of specialized community and public health programs and projects.

The incumbent develops and implements basic nutrition instruction programs for project staff and creates necessary nutrition education materials.

Additionally, the role involves teaching individuals of various age groups how to select, prepare, and use foods that best support and nourish their bodies.

Desired Qualification:


* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Home Economics, Health Science or closely related field.


* Possession of a valid Certificate or Registration as a dietitian as issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration or RD eligible.


* Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but not required


* CA Drivers License required

Work Schedule:
9/80, with every other Friday off
Mon, Wed, Thurs: 8AM- 5PM
Tues: 9 AM- 6:30 PM
Fri: 8 AM- 5PM

• Develops and implements basic programs of instruction in diet therapy, nutrition, and diet counseling techniques for program and project staff; develops needed nutrition education materials.

• Teaches and counsels people of various age groups to select and/or prepare and use the foods that will best nourish their bodies, taking into consideration physical, financial, social, and emotional needs, as well as personal preferences and cultural patterns.

• Performs nutritional assessments on individuals prior to enrollment in programs; determines, through application of various published standards, whether individuals are at nutritional risk.

• Gives direct nutritional and dietetic consultation to individuals with special nutritional needs; plans and reviews menus for nutrition sites where meals are prepared and served for program participants.
