Software Engineer [Multiple Positions Available]

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, implement, and maintain a managed AWS Databricks platform, as well as provide engineering and operational support.

Develop and modify Platform provisioning terraform module code.

Develop and modify Python and Java platform provisioning and usage REST APIs for the platform which will be used by downstream consumers of the platform.

Perform platform design, set-up and configuration, workspace administration, resource monitoring, as well as provide engineering support to data engineering teams, Data Science/Machine Learning (ML), and Application/integration teams.

Collaborate closely with Team Leads, Platform/Architecture teams and Data Engineers, Scientists, Architects, Modelers, and Analysts to design technical solutions for AWS Databricks platform.

Drive decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any), Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Infrastructure Developer, Infrastructure Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.

The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Engineering (any), Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Infrastructure Developer, Infrastructure Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: utilizing programming languages such as Java, Python, or Terraform; working with AWS Cloud Services Provisioning and Usage; utilizing RDS, Dynamo DB, Lambdas, IAM Role, EMR, EKS, and Security Groups to automate REST API services, compute for the big data pipelines, and setup of the tenant spaces for Big Data and Spark platform; utilizing Terraform Enterprise and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Groovy to provision the infrastructure and deploy the code into production through automated process; using Networking Rules, Firewalls, DNS, IPv4, Oauth, SAML, or VPCs in AWS and On-Prem Systems; utilizing Big Data Compute Engines including Spark; and designing production-grade cloud solutions in Cloud ecosystems such as Amazon Web Services.
