Staff Equipment Engineer
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for various activities in the Woburn Semiconductor Operations.
1) Wafer Fab equipment & facility maintenance: including performing processing equipment installation, upgrade, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
Perform periodic maintenance (PM) on the PECVD tool and equipment inspections per schedule.
Responsible for hazardous waste management and waste water treatment.
Coordinate all outside repair, equipment maintenance and PM activities, and process gas ordering and deliveries.
2) Environmental health and safety (EH&S) duties: Collect, control, and assemble EH&S data for the purpose of accurate and timely reporting to regulatory authorities.
Generate and maintain EH&S documents such as hazardous waste manifests and compliance reports.
Provide EH&S trainings and guidance to other employees.
Education & Experience
BS in a science or engineering discipline or equivalent trainings and experience
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a cleanroom wafer fabrication facility with direct experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of semiconductor wafer processing equipment, including contact aligners, CVD and PVD tools, and RIE.
Experience with PECVD is highly desirable
Extensive knowledge of operations of cleanroom facilities, including HVAC, HEPA filters, exhaust management, and DI water system
Experience with waste-water treatment and hazardous waste management; Current certifications are highly desirable
Demonstrated experience and ability in problem analysis, root cause finding, and implementation of resolutions
Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
Ability to recommend and implement plans for process and equipment improvement
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Skills
* Ability to communicate and negotiate with vendors and/or contractors effectively on cost and lead time for parts or services
* Attention to details
* Ability to anticipate and identify potential equipment and facility issues and make preparations for service or repair
* Ability to work highly independently with minimal guidance from supervisor on specific tasks
* Excellent program management and independent planning skills for cross functional programs
* Strong ability to solve complex problems & make correct business decisions in short timeframes, oftentimes with limited inputs
Handle special assignments with speed and effectiveness
Working Conditions
* This position is on-site
* May require occasional off-site meetings or travel
* Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary
* Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the job
* May require occasional overtime and flexibility in work hours to accommodate the executive's needs
