Electronic Technician II
As an Electronic Technician II at SQM, you’ll play a key role in assembling, testing, and repairing advanced electronic equipment that supports INIT’s world-class intelligent transportation systems.
You’ll work hands-on with digital and analog circuits, ensuring all components meet rigorous quality standards and contribute to reliable, cutting-edge transit technology.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, repair, and test electronic assemblies, components, and circuit boards
* Perform manual soldering and rework with attention to IPC workmanship standards
* Assemble and test electrical devices according to detailed instructions and quality guidelines
* Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
* Interpret and work from schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation
* Complete administrative and reporting tasks accurately and on time
* Maintain ESD protection protocols and a clean, organized workspace
* Support other manufacturing and quality initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
* Associate Degree in Electronics or equivalent technical training (preferred)
* 3–5 years of hands-on experience as an electronics technician in a manufacturing environment
* Soldering certification (preferred)
Technical Skills
* Strong understanding of analog and digital electronic circuitry
* Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
* Familiarity with crimping tools, testing procedures, and board-level repairs
* Knowledge of Windows-based systems (Windows XP, 7, or later)
* Working knowledge of IPC standards and ESD practices
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
* Visual acuity to distinguish fine circuit details, color variations, and tones
* Must comply with ESD safety requirements in designated areas
