Software Engineer [Multiple Positions Available]

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop, test and implement software solutions.

Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.

Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, Vulnerability management, Performance testing, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.

Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.

Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.

Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.

Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or in a related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Programmer Analyst, Technology Analyst, Application Developer, or in a related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience in the following: Developing in Java/J2EE and REST APIs, and Web Services; Building event driven Micro Services; Performing system design, application development, testing, and operational stability; Developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a corporate environment with one or more modern programming language and with database querying languages [specifically SQL with DB2 and Oracle]; Working with Software Development Life Cycle; Using software development methodologies including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security; Developing with Oracle, SQL, and DB2 databases; Developing with Apache Kafka; Working in developmental toolsets including GIT, BitBucket, JIRA, and Maven; Utilizing software development Agile Methodologies; Developing with practices and build tools including IntelliJ/Eclipse, JMeter, Junit, Automated Functional Testing, Contract testing, Blazemeter, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Spring Batch, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud; Developing in Dockers and Kubernetes, AWS cloud Microservices, and Databases; Developing software applications and technical processes within the mainframe technical discipline with tools including COBOL, VSAM, DB2, JCL, CICS, DFSORT, and Easytrieve.
