Job Summary
The Machinist operates and programs computer numerically controlled (CNC) and manual machinery, including grinding and milling machines, to produce and repair high-quality, precision parts.

This role requires a safety-conscious team player capable of interpreting complex blueprints and working effectively with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machine tools to fabricate or repair precision components, working within tight tolerances.
* Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine setups, procedures, and optimal machining sequences.
* Apply knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure product conformity.
* Utilize and interpret various precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers (ID/OD/depth), calipers, and pi tapes, to inspect parts and ensure they meet specifications.
* Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
* Adjust machine feeds, speeds, and tool offsets as needed to maintain high-quality production.
* Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and ensure consistent performance.
* Operate overhead cranes safely to handle materials and parts.
* Maintain accurate inspection documentation and production records.
* Communicate effectively within a team environment and with supervisors to ensure priorities and assignments are met efficiently.
* Demonstrate a continuous commitment to improving efficiency, productivity, and quality.
* Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
Qualifications
* Experience with equipment such as CNC 3-axis, 5-axis, machining, grinding, milling, surface grinding, creep feed grinding
* Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent manual dexterity.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical documents, and work instructions.
* Intermediate mathematical skills for measurement, testing, and problem-solving.
* Solid critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
* Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
* Excellent attention to detail, ensuring work is consistently precise.
* Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Outlook.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Education and Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent is required.
* A trade school certificate or specialized education in machining is preferred.
