Job Summary

Perform original and copy cataloging of legal resources in multiple formats.

Create and revise authority records for names, series, subjects, and uniform titles of existing and new materials.

Maintain quality control of library's catalog on.

Develop and update cataloging policies and procedures.

Contribute to the development of library policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and appropriate rules.

Assist library patrons as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from a college or university program accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) with a Master's degree or higher and

• Two (2) years in academic, public, special library setting, or directly related experience OR

• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.

*Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States territories and Canada, must be credentialed by the World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or a National Association of Credential Evaluation (NACES) member organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

• Knowledge of tools and bibliographic utilities, including Anglo-American Cataloging Rules 2nd edition (AACR2), Library of Congress Subject Heading (LCSH), Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC21), metadata, and OCLC input standards and guidelines.

• Skill in working with a web-based integrated library system such as Innovative Interfaces Millennium.

• Knowledge of legal bibliography, legal subject headings, and classification schedules.

• Skill in customer service skill.

• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

• Skill in original and copy cataloging of resources in multiple formats.
