Role Outline

The Senior Financial Accountant will have full responsibility of gross profit reporting across both management and statutory accounts for various legal entities within the group’s European businesses and will ensure adequate controls are in place.

The successful candidate will be an ambitious individual with solid accounting experience.

They should have a proven track record of delivering accurate and timely reporting and should be able to hit the ground running within a high performing corporate finance department.

This position will work alongside multiple internal business functions including FP&A, Commercial Team.

The position will have a high profile with regular interaction at the most senior level of the business.

The role will manage a team of 2 and as part of a larger finance team, you will be working closely with your line manager to design and develop high quality reporting to give the business solid insight to make key business decisions.

Core Responsibilities


* Lead and manage a team of two, providing direction, support, and development


* Reconcile GP to the sales dashboard, calculate the appropriate accruals and prepayments.


* Liaise with Commercial to make sure we are capturing all the relevant information regarding cost and revenue.


* Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, ensuring alignment between accounting and reporting systems


* Calculation of Bad Debt & Rebates


* Ensure teams bank reconciliations are reconciled and maintained


* Support budget preparation and forecasting activities


* Support VAT returns across relevant jurisdictions


* Drive an efficient and well‑controlled audit process across areas of responsibility


* Undertake ad‑hoc tasks as required by the Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller

Skills and Knowledge


* Newly Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent)


* Strong Excel capability: Power Query experience preferred


* Experience with Hyperion Planning, preferred


* Experience with Hyperion EBCS (FCCS) preferred


* High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency


* Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines


* Confident working with large data sets and learning new systems
