Sr Lead Software Engineer - Platform Engineering

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments, Proprietary Wallets, and Lending Innovation organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring secure, stable, and scalable technology products.

Job responsibilities


* Develops and implements standards and best practices for platform engineering, deployment, and production observability across a broad range of applications within the organization.


* Collaborates with SRE, DevOps, architects, engineering directors, and senior application engineers to integrate business and technology requirements into platform engineering and deployment strategies.


* Provides regular technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors


* Drives the adoption of best practices, ensuring high standards of quality, security, and efficiency are maintained across all projects.


* Develops tools and practices for ensuring adherence to application standards and approaches.


* Creates and manages POCs to evaluate the feasibility and impact of new technologies and methodologies, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.


* Leads initiatives to enhance production observability by integrating advanced monitoring and logging solutions into existing and new products.


* Explores and develops strategies for implementing cutting-edge platform engineering technologies across the organization, ensuring alignment with the firm's long-term objectives.


* Advises cross-functional teams on matters within the domain of expertise.


* Creates durable, reusable tools that are leveraged across teams and functions.


* Influences leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams


* Contributes to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


* Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience, including platform engineering, deployment, and observability.


* Hands-on experience building and maintaining observability tools


* Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability


* Expertise in Splunk, Tableau, and related tools


* Strong skillset in AI, particularly in enhancing production observability processes.
