Internship Description - 2 (Machine Learning)

IR Saxonburg team seeks an intern with experience in software design, coding and debugging who is looking to make an impact in the industry-leading area of automated inspection and machine learning.

The intern will gain real-world software engineering experience at a thriving company as well as experience and training in project management and execution skills that will set this person apart in future career opportunities.

We frequently work in small teams to solve problems and explore new technologies, and we are constantly learning from one another and striving to grow as a group.

Responsibilities


* Assess new application ideas in automated visual inspection and machine learning


* Research in-house analysis approaches and competitor offerings and propose solutions with recommendations on path forward


* Develop, trial, and implement algorithms in automated visual inspection and machine learning


* Present findings, with initial recommendation on path forward to production

Requirements


* Computer Science/Network Engineering, Engineering, Statistics, Data Analytics, or Mathematics major


* Ability to work creatively in multi-disciplinary teams and strive for innovative solutions


* Experience programming in some combination of C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, and/or LabView a must


* SQL or database experience a plus


* Strong analytical, organizational skills, particularly in neural networks or deep learning, a major plus


* Citizen or permanent resident

Working Conditions


* This role will be based on-site in Saxonburg.


* Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.

Physical Requirements


* Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.


* Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.


* Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.


* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
