Diamond Intern
Job Summary
The Diamond Growth department is seeking a process engineer intern to conduct process development, R&D and engineering support for new processes within the Diamond Growth department.
The internship will focus on the development of techniques to characterize, test and develop diamond microelectronic and quantum devices.
Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires a U.S.
Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C.
1324b(a)(3).
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
* Under the mentorship of an engineer, develop processes for characterizing and testing diamond electronic and quantum devices.
* Collect figures of merit to provide feedback for the fabrication of diamond devices.
* Successfully apply design of experiments (DOE) techniques to solve problems and facilitate new process designs.
* Write work instructions documentation for processes that are being developed.
* Keep organized notes and data entry logs of work being performed.
* Collaborate with the team and share progress in meetings.
Education & Experience
* Education Level Required: Rising Junior pursuing a bachelor's degree or above.
* Majors: Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry or related science field is required.
* Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in the semiconductor field is a plus.
* Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date.
Skills & Other Requirements
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.
* Experience in programming languages such as C++, C, Python, Matlab etc.

* Experience with writing scripts for automation in data collection and data processing
* Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
* Attention to detail and time management.
* Proficient at Microsoft 365 applications
* Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret P&IDs, mechanical, and electrical schematics

* Internship Duration: 10 - 14 weeks.
