Lab Test Technician
What do you get to do in this position?
* Conduct testing on electrical products at high voltages and high currents in a contained High Power Lab environment
* Work with circuit breakers, switchgear, busway, transformers and loadcenters
* Analyze test results and make critical pass/fail determinations for dedicated test scenarios
* Participate in test means modifications and improvements to enhance testing efficiency
* Document comprehensive testing procedures and results while ensuring compliance with industry

Technical Skills & Expertise
* Electrical Theory: Strong working knowledge of AC/DC electricity concepts, including voltage, current, power, and resistance.
* Schematics: Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
* Test Equipment: Proficiency in operating multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and high-voltage test sets.
* Data & Software:
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel for data logging).
* Familiarity with specialized software like LabVIEW, Perception or PLC programming is often a significant "plus."
Safety Standards: Knowledge of NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace) and specific certification standards like UL, CSA, or IEC.
Dielectric & Insulation Testing: Proficiency in performing Hipot (high potential) testing, insulation resistance tests (Megger), and dielectric withstand tests
Contact Resistance Measurement: Using micro-ohmmeters (e.g., Ductor testing) to verify the integrity of bolted connections and breaker contacts.Education Requirements:
* Associate's Degree or higher in a related technical field, or appropriate experience
