Community Program Specialist ll

The Department of Public Social Services - IHSS Public Authority Division is seeking outgoing and enthusiastic candidates for two Community Program Specialist II positions.

The Community Program Specialist II will be based in Moreno Valley and travel throughout Riverside County to identify and engage individuals interested in becoming In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) caregivers.

Responsibilities include applicant follow-up, enrollment tracking, facilitating caregiver training and recruitment events, conducting public speaking engagements, participating in community outreach, and preparing summary report

The most competitive candidates will possess in-depth knowledge of the IHSS program and related systems (including BOUNDS/PEARS and CMIPS), strong community engagement and partnership-building experience, excellent presentation and organizational skills, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as programs such as Canva, Eventbrite, Zoom, and SurveyMonkey.

The role requires 12 weeks of in-office training, after which a hybrid telework, schedule may be possible based on business needs, but you must be prepared for in-person work at any time as telework arrangements can change.

This role may require occasional evening, weekend, or overtime work.

• Develop, coordinate, implement, and maintain a long range public education and awareness plan encompassing issues and the missions of the department; encourage members of the communities to develop skills needed to improve their quality of life and/or become self-sufficient and involved.
