Administrative Services Analyst I - Veterans Services

The County of Riverside's Veterans' Services seeks an Administrative Services Analyst I to join the Administration unit located in Riverside.

The selected candidate will be responsible for contracts and grants review.

Under general supervision, assists management by providing a wide variety of administrative support services; conducts complex and difficult research and analytical studies involving contract data and/or operational processes and programs; will oversee grant compliance; and performs other related duties as required.

May direct, train, assign, and evaluate subordinate clerical and technical personnel in the performance of routine tasks.

Recommendations on policies and procedures.

This position requires the incumbent to travel throughout the county to various off-site locations as needed.

The most competitive candidates will have experience in Microsoft products, including proficiency-level Excel functions; analyzing data; pulling data from various reports.

Knowledge in claims assistance for Veterans and VetPro is also highly desired.

The level at which the position will be filled is at the Department's discretion and is based on candidate qualifications.

Administrative Services Analyst I is a natural progression underfill for the class of Administrative Services Analyst II.

Incumbents are eligible to promote to Administrative Services Analyst II after obtaining one year of experience as an Administrative Services Analyst I, receiving a satisfactory performance evaluation, and meeting the educational and/or experience requirements.

Failure to meet the requirements to promote at the end of the probationary period will result in incumbents being returned to their former County classification or new hires being probationary released.

Can you see yourself here?• Conduct studies of operational, service and programmatic activities including workflow, organizational structure, operating procedures, space utilization, facilities management, equipment usage, and staffing patterns; develop reports and recommendations for appropriate action based on the analysis of collected data.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and performs cost/benefit analysis of specific programs; review financial data on an on-going basis to ensure conformance with established guidelines.

• Monitor adherence to contract terms.

• Develop written procedures to clarify or describe standard practices; design or improve forms to expedite procedures; coordinate the publication and dissemination of procedures; review present and pending legislation to determine effect on departmental operations and programs.
