Guardian Glass is looking for a Process Engineer at our Carleton Michigan Float Glass facility.

What You Will Do



* Utilizing SPC, statistical methods and data analysis to improve production processes including enhancements in yield, lowering costs and increasing manufacturing up time


* Assisting in new product development and maximizing manufacturing capabilities


* Leading complex projects in a team-based environment taking advantage of your excellent relationship building and communication skills


* Utilizing continuous improvement methodologies to facilitate process improvements and teach others


* Working with customers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions (up to 10% travel can be expected)


* Training production operators and working collaboratively with them to improve processes


* Opportunity to develop expertise in float processes and equipment to support troubleshooting and process improvements

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* A Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Ceramic Engineering, or a related STEM degree plus 3 years' of manufacturing experience OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum 3 years' experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment


* Experience operating or supporting production processes in a manufacturing environment


* Ability to utilize statistical methods and data analysis to improve production processes


* Experience working with customers to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions

* Experience driving process improvements by collaborating across multiple organizational levels and disciplines


* Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work autonomously on assigned projects


* 3+ years as a process engineer in a manufacturing environment


* Experience leading 8Ds to help root cause problems and put corrective actions in place
