Job Description:

About the Team

HPE Networking develops high-performance, rack-mounted systems that power hyperscale data centers and cloud infrastructure worldwide.

Our Mechanical Engineering team designs robust electro-mechanical platforms that meet demanding structural, thermal, and reliability requirements.

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern with strong interest in structural simulation and vibration analysis to support next-generation networking hardware development.

What You'll Work On:


* Perform structural simulations using ANSYS (preferred)


* Conduct modal analysis and vibration studies on rack-mounted systems


* Support static structural analysis (deflection, mounting loads, thermal stress)


* Perform lab experiments to improve designs and to validate simulations


* Contribute to mechanical design reviews and prototype validation


* Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and manufacturing engineers

You will work on real shipping hardware programs under the mentorship of senior engineers.

Education:


* Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (3rd year preferred)


* Strong background in:
+ Solid mechanics
+ Non-linear analysis
+ Vibrations and dynamics


* Experience with ANSYS or similar FEA tools


* Familiarity with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)


* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


* Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have:


* Research or internship experience in structural simulation


* Exposure to electronics packaging or electro-mechanical systems


* Understanding of modal testing or vibration theory


* Experience with accelerometer and strain gauge instrumentation
