Data Governance Manager – Canada

As part of the North America Data Office, you will contribute to building a robust operating and data governance model that strengthens data quality, security, availability, compliance, and usability across the entire value chain.

Your work will help ensure data is well-documented, protected, high-quality, AI-ready, and easy for teams to locate and use.

Role Overview

As the Canada Data Governance Manager, you will be responsible for implementing Schneider Electric's data strategy across Canadian operations.

You will serve as the single point of contact for all data governance matters in Canada.

Guided by the Data Maturity Playbook, you will support continuous improvement of data maturity through governance practices and the organization's Data Golden Rules.

What you'll be doing


* Establish governance frameworks aligned with organizational strategy.


* Lead data governance committees and manage data standards and data assets.


* Ensure compliance with governance policies, standards, and Data Golden Rules.


* Support data privacy initiatives in collaboration with the North America Data Privacy Leader.


* Define and monitor data quality indicators and associated controls.


* Assess and track data quality metrics and promote remediation actions.


* Manage issue resolution, root-cause analysis, and corrective action plans.


* Maintain Canadian data lineage, documentation, and metadata.


* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide frameworks.


* Implement appropriate controls to support risk management and compliance requirements.

What you bring


* Knowledge of enterprise business processes (Sales, Marketing, Order Management, Service & Support).


* Strong written and verbal communication skills.


* Understanding of data modeling and complex technical and business topics.


* Ability to foster cross-functional alignment and simplify complex issues.


* 7-10 years of experience working with IT and business stakeholders.


* Understanding of business strategy, change management, and IT development processes.


* Experience in data governance and data stewardship (preferred).

Education & Travel


* Bachelor's degree in Business or a related technical field.


* Limited travel within Canada and the United States.

The compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is $114,750 - $162,000 for candidates who are Ontario residents.

Our salary ranges are determined by including roles of similar responsibility and level.

Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
