Licensed Vocational Nurse II-Hemet Adult Clinic (Spanish Bilingual)
The Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Behavioral Health Department - Hemet Adult Clinic is seeking a Spanish Bilingual Licensed Vocational Nurse II to join their team located in Hemet.
This is a field position and traveling is required.
Under supervision and direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician, performs nursing duties within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing in the care of patients in the Department of Mental Health or Public Health Ambulatory Family Health Center; and perform other related duties as required.
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is not an independent practitioner.
Incumbents assigned to the LVN II class have one to three years of experience working as an LVN.
This is the full journey level class for LVNs working in non-acute care assignments with the Department of Mental Health or Public Health Ambulatory Care.
Incumbents assigned to this class perform the full range of professional nursing duties within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing with a minimum of supervision and periodic in-service training.
LVN II incumbents may compete for promotion to LVN III at the end of four years of experience and demonstrate proficiency in independent practice as an LVN within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing.
The LVN II is distinguished from the class of Nursing Assistant, Health Services Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant, in that a state license is required of incumbents and they perform a more highly skilled form of patient care.
We are seeking a nurse with strong clinical judgment, crisis-intervention skills, and experience in Behavioral Health settings.
Field-based work is highly preferred.
Daily responsibilities include administering injections, reviewing laboratory results for the medical team, assisting consumers with medication-related concerns, and conducting follow-up on medication issues.
The role also involves obtaining medication histories, coordinating care with physicians, and collaborating with network providers to ensure seamless service linkage.
Additional duties include supporting physicians by managing calls and calling in medications, recording vital signs for new and routine medication visits, and providing nursing services within a multidisciplinary team.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with community partners such as probation, courts, hospitals, and community centers.
Accurate, timely documentation in accordance with State, Federal, and County/Department standards is essential.
Preferred candidates will have experience working with individuals living with mental illness, as well as training or background in supporting people with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Flexibility, compassion, and a willingness to partner with consumers on their wellness and recovery journey are highly valued.
