Manager EH&S
The Manager of Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) has responsibility for the continuous improvement and support of the Corporate EH&S programs for Sterigenics.
This position will provide support and training to designated facilities to ensure compliance with all federal, state and Company EH&S requirements.
Reporting Structure:
* The Manager of Environmental, Health & Safety will report to the Director of EH&S.
Major Responsibilities:
As Manager of Environmental, Health & Safety, the major areas of responsibility include the following:
Environmental Support:
* Become familiar with federal, state and local environmental (air, waste, water) requirements for identified plants.
* Provide ongoing support and training to the plants for compliance with the current environmental requirements.
* Develop working relationships with appropriate state and local environmental regulatory parties.
* Prepare environmental permit applications, when needed.
Also prepare and submit regulatory agency reports.
* Coordinate and support compliance testing.
* Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and QA departments to ensure continued EH&S compliance and further support EH&S corporate initiatives.
Health & Safety Support:
* Support ongoing implementation of the Corporate EH&S System at identified plants including the development of standards and work instructions.
* Provide training and training materials to the plants for required safety training topics.
* Monitor the industrial hygiene testing results and follow-up, including assistance with action plans, as needed for identified plants.
* Assist plant safety committees as needed to improve the safety awareness in identified plants.
* Support implementation of Process Safety Management and Risk Management Programs at designated US facilities.
* Conduct Process Hazard Analysis and/or Risk Assessments and follow up on any issues generated.
* Assist in Worker Compensation claim management.
* Conduct incident investigations and corrective/preventative actions for all incidents.
Assist the facility in incident tracking and trend evaluations.
* Participate in and conduct periodic inspections and lead EH&S Corporate Audits for all facilities.
Follow up on all items with appropriate management.
Minimum Educational Requirements, Experience and Abilities :
* Bachelor's Degree, in a technical discipline
* Seven or more years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical or chemical industries.
* Strong knowledge of Federal, state, and local EH&S related regulations.
* Basic understanding of OSHA Process Safety Management and/or EPA Risk Management Program.
* Computer proficiency ability, Microsoft Office preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
