Assists in various tasks aligned with their field of study, including research, collaboration on team initiatives and projects, problem-solving, and creative thinking to gain hands-on experience and develop professional skills.

Includes internships, research roles, visiting scholar positions, or other program-related opportunities.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern to join our Networking team.

This role is ideal for students who enjoy Python development, data structures & algorithms, and AI-driven automation.

You'll work with senior engineers on real-world problems involving Kubernetes, Linux systems, automation, and AIOps, gaining hands-on experience in production environments and AI-assisted operations at scale.

Responsibilities


* Build and maintain Python tools and automation to support system operations and workflows.


* Design and implement solutions using data structures and algorithms to solve engineering challenges.


* Contribute to AIOps initiatives, including applying AI/ML techniques for monitoring, alerting, and root cause analysis, and automating operational tasks.


* Work in Linux server environments: scripting, debugging, system-level automation, and interpreting logs, processes, and performance metrics.


* Collaborate with engineers to improve system reliability, efficiency, and scalability.


* Learn and adopt modern AI tools, frameworks, and best practices to improve automation and operations.

Education & Experience required:


* Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science.

Knowledge & Skills:


* Strong Python programming skills.


* Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms and ability to solve coding problems independently.


* Good grasp of Linux fundamentals (processes, filesystems, basic networking).


* Comfortable working in Linux server-based environments and adapting to practical operational needs.
