Position Summary:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for proving psychiatric assessments and ongoing treatment to all clients.
Maintains open communication lines with the Executive Director, Medical Director, Director of Nursing, facility staff, attending clinicians, clients and families.
Liaisons with community agencies, vendors, and payors of health services.
* Shifts will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting at 8:30 am PST through 5:00 pm PST
* Work is performed on-site at the location
* Pay range for this role is from $75.00 to $90.00 dollars per hour
* Shift hours may vary due to census
Essential Job Functions:
* Under the direction of the Medical Director and or acting as the Medical Director, provides psychiatric assessments, ongoing medication monitoring and discharge assessments of all clients.
* If acting as Medical Director, responsibilities include meeting state regulatory, licensing and accreditation requirements
Assists in the coordination and integration of medical/nursing services with other client care services to ensure continuity of care for each client.
Participating in team conferences with the multidisciplinary team and the client care committee (if the facility chooses to establish a client care committee).
Attends and participates in all "in-service" functions.
Assists with emergency situations and make immediate referrals.
Maintains the Confidential nature of all clients and facility activities.
Maintains required Training & Continuing Education.
Maintains Standards of Ethical Conduct.
Complies with all Policies and Procedures.
Effectively communicates concerns about client health to the Medical Director/Director of Nursing and follows up as necessary.
Facilitates medication education for new clients and for all other clients starting new medications.
Meets with therapists to provide information about client psychiatric/medical problems.
Assists the treatment team in incorporating medical issues into treatment planning.
Participate in regular department meetings and staff meetings.
Maintains effective communication between outside medical services and the facility.
