Switchgear Quotation Specialist

What will you do?

Schneider Electric has an opportunity for a Quotation Specialist - Medium & Low Voltage Switchgear in our Calgary (AB), Dollard-des-Ormeaux (QC), or Milton (ON) locations.

This position is accountable for preparation of quotations for product/project orders while driving a high level of customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be able to analyze the needs of the customer, and deliver a solution based on the customer's application requirements.



* Review RFQ's for clarity of request, suitability for Schneider Electric product offering, risk assessment, profitability, and time given to complete quotations.


* Initiate RFQ discussion with Tender manager, Technical lead, and Sales to discuss requirements, advise recommendations, and suggest optimizations.


* Match products to customer specifications and drawings by demonstrating knowledge of products.


* Optimize offering to improve success and customer experience.


* Reviews customer specifications/drawings to ensure quote is technically compatible and competitive.


* Understands, analyzes, documents, and communicates contractual and technical terms and conditions relative to the company standard.


* Develops list of clarification, deviation, exception and completes data sheet to define offer scope and minimize business risks.


* Maintains a current understanding of quote strategies and market conditions.


* Identify and promote opportunities to improve the quotation process and measure effectiveness.


* Attends & assists for both internal & external inquires/meetings during project execution.

* Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronics or relevant experience


* LV/MV switchgear technical experience/knowledge


* Quotation and product selection experience preferably in the Electrical Industry


* Ability to understand single line diagrams, schematics, and specifications


* Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines


* Ability to work independently and on a team


* Strong interpersonal and communication skills


* For Quebec-based candidates functional French is required

What's in it for you:

The compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is $75,200-$112,800 for candidates who are Ontario residents.

Our salary ranges are determined by including roles of similar responsibility and level.

Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
