Production Scheduler - Sheet Metal - 1st Shift
POSITION PURPOSE
The Production Scheduler – Sheet Metal is an hourly position performing a variety of tasks that support operations and the plant SIOP. Candidate needs to be energetic, willing to learn, able to work independently & be a change agent. The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining and executing daily, weekly and long range schedules that align operational capacity with customer demand and business priorities. This role ensures efficient utilization of labor, equipment and materials while supporting on-time delivery, cost control and operational performance.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Develop and maintain tooling schedules aligned with the Master Production Schedule.
* Coordinate tool availability for production runs, changeovers, trials & engineering releases.
* Schedule preventative maintenance, repairs for tools/dies.
* Balance demand, capacity, and resource constraints to meet on time delivery.
* Sequence and prioritize work orders to optimize throughput and efficiency.
* Adjust production schedules in real time to address disruptions such as labor shortages, equipment downtime, or demand changes.
* Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Supply and Customer Service to ensure schedule attainment and customer on time delivery.
* Effectively communicate priorities, changes & risks to all stakeholders.
* Monitor operational performance daily.
Escalate shortages with Production & Supply Chain.
* Track KPI’s such as on time completion, capacity utilization & backlog.
* Identify bottlenecks and escalate risks with recommended corrective actions.
* Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on schedule stability, flow, and resource utilization.
* Standardize scheduling practices and documentation.
* Support Master Scheduler with efficient utilization of manufacturing assets.
* Support standard work and best practice for tooling control and scheduling.
Qualifications:
* Education:
* High school diploma or GED.
* Experience & Skills:
* 1-5 years’ experience in operations scheduling, production planning, operations coordination.
* Strong planning, prioritization, and time management skills.
* Problem solving mindset with a focus on uptime and reliability.
* Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Effective communication and stakeholder management.
* Analytical mindset with mindfulness and attention to detail.
* Calm, decisive, decision making under pressure.
* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
