Midtown Oaks Post Acute is hiring a dedicated and experienced Director of Staff Development (DSD - LVN) to lead nursing education, training, and competency programs in our skilled nursing facility.
This is a key clinical leadership role focused on regulatory compliance, staff development, survey readiness, and quality resident care.

🔎 Position Summary
The Director of Staff Development is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating all education and training programs for nursing staff.
This role ensures compliance with CDPH, CMS, and Title 22 regulations while promoting best practices in resident care and infection control.
📝 Key Responsibilities
* Develop and oversee staff education programs in compliance with CDPH and federal regulations
* Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding for nursing staff
* Ensure completion of required annual training and in-service education
* Conduct skills validation, competency evaluations, and remediation
* Maintain accurate training documentation for surveys, audits, and inspections
* Educate staff on policies, procedures, and regulatory updates
* Partner with the Infection Preventionist on infection control training
* Support QAPI and quality improvement initiatives
* Collaborate closely with the DON, ADON, and interdisciplinary leadership team
* Assist with survey preparation and plans of correction related to staff education
✅ Required Qualifications
* Active California LVN license in good standing
* Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
* At least 1 year of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience
* Completion of a CDPH-approved Director of Staff Development (24-hour) course
(Must complete within 6 months of hire if not already certified)
* Strong knowledge of Title 22, CMS regulations, and long-term care compliance

* Previous experience as a DSD or Nurse Educator in a SNF
* Strong leadership, teaching, and communication skills
* Highly organized and survey-ready mindset
* Experience with electronic training systems or LMS platforms
* Background in Infection Control or QAPI preferred
