About the Role
The Continuous Improvement (ABS) Intern will support site-wide productivity and operational excellence initiatives.
This role provides hands‑on experience in Lean principles, 5S practices, and manufacturing process optimization.
The intern will collaborate with Continuous Improvement teams to improve workflows, support project execution, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with 5S productivity initiatives, including organization, standardization, and workplace efficiency improvements.
* Support designing layouts for process improvement projects (e.g., material flow, workstation design, floor layouts).
* Provide general support for ongoing Continuous Improvement project activities, which may include data collection, process mapping, documentation, and presenting findings.
* Partner with CI team members to identify opportunities for waste reduction, improved safety, and efficiency.
* Contribute to project planning, execution, and follow‑up tasks as assigned.
Working Conditions
* Work is performed in a manufacturing and industrial environment with exposure to active production areas.
* May require occasional standing, walking, or observing processes on the shop floor.
* Standard weekday schedule with potential variation based on project needs.
Environmental Responsibilities
* Support improvement activities that contribute to reduced waste, optimized resource usage, and environmentally responsible facility operations.
* Follow all environmental policies and procedures while working in production areas.
Safety Responsibilities
* Adhere strictly to all plant safety rules, PPE requirements, and reporting procedures.
* Participate in identifying safety improvement opportunities within 5S and layout design projects.
* Maintain safe behaviors while conducting project work in manufacturing areas.

Minimum Qualifications
* Current enrollment in a degree program related to:
+ Lean Manufacturing
+ Industrial Engineering
+ Manufacturing Engineering
+ Operations Management
+ Or a similar field of study
* Interest in continuous improvement, manufacturing processes, and Lean principles.
Preferred Qualifications
* Exposure to Lean Manufacturing concepts such as 5S, waste reduction, or process mapping.
