Park Ranger I/II - Parks (Jurupa)

The County of Riverside seeks candidates to fill positions throughout Riverside County.

A list of eligible candidates will be established to fill current and future vacancies

The Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space district seeks multiple Park Rangers - Parks who will support the Rancho Jurupa Regional Park .

The positions will be filled at either the I or II level.

Rancho Jurupa Regional Park is situated along the Santa Ana River and located behind Mt.

Rubidoux just west of charming historic downtown Riverside.

This popular award-winning regional park boasts a natural semi-rural setting of shady cottonwood trees, graceful meadows, and two lovely lakes, while still providing easy access to the entertainment opportunities and urban conveniences of the city.

The Park Ranger will act as security for the park, interact with the public to educate and enforce county ordinances, assist with various maintenance, and issue camping permits .

The ideal candidate will have a background in open-space reserve, forestry, and parks or experience in military or law enforcement.

Prior working experience with an emphasis in customer service is also a plus.

Work Schedule:
This position follows a 4/10 schedule (four 10-hour shifts per week), including weekends and holidays.

Shifts rotate quarterly and may change based on departmental needs.

The selected candidate must have the flexibility and availability to work all shifts.
Shift Hours:
Day: 9:00 a.m.

- 7:30 p.m.
Evening: 2:30 p.m.

- 1:00 a.m.

(Shift pay differential is available)
Graveyard: 7:00 p.m.

- 5:30 a.m.

(Shift pay differential is available)

Incumbents are expected to progress to the Park Ranger II level upon meeting the minimum qualifications for the higher level and satisfactory job performance.

The level at which the position will be filled is at the Department's discretion and contingent on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Both Levels
• Explain and enforce park policies, rules, regulations, and County ordinances; oversee the registration of park visitors, the collection of fees.

• Participate in custodial duties and the maintenance and cleanup of park structures and grounds; work with park maintenance personnel on minor construction, maintenance, repair, and improvement of park structures, facilities, and grounds.

• Answer public inquiries and complaints concerning park operations and maintenance.
