Role Summary
The Critical Care RN is a key member of an interdisciplinary care team responsible for delivering safe, individualized, high-quality care to complex patient populations.
Using evidence-based practice, strong clinical judgment, and advanced critical thinking, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in a fast-paced critical care setting.
This role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with families and healthcare teams, and continuous improvement in clinical outcomes.
The RN supports a culture of accountability, safety, and professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice & Patient Care
* Deliver comprehensive critical care nursing using the full nursing process
* Provide individualized, relationship-based patient care for diverse populations
* Collaborate with patients and families to support education and care planning
* Follow current evidence-based clinical standards and protocols
Team Collaboration
* Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
* Promote a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment
* Participate in quality improvement and shared governance initiatives
Professional Development
* Complete required competency assessments and continuing education
* Serve as a mentor or preceptor to support team development

Qualifications
Education
* Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
* Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Licensure & Certifications
* Active RN license (single-state or compact)
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
* Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
