Special Assets Officer
Salary Range: $85,000 - $97,000
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Special Assets Officer is primarily responsible for assisting in managing a portfolio of distressed commercial and residential loans and recommend appropriate workout action plans. In addition, responsibilities include assisting the Credit Administration Manager with managing third-party audits as well as monitoring the overall credit quality of the portfolio.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Special Assets:
* Assist in the management of a portfolio of criticized loan relationships consisting of multiple loan types and complexity mitigating GRB’s risk.
* Review and analyze loan documentation, financial statements to assess risk and the adequacy of repayment sources for recovery.
* Develop, recommend and implement workout/liquidation strategies for problem loans including past due, and sub performing to mitigate risk and maximize recovery.
* Detect early warning signs, loan inherent deficiencies, and communicate problem assets to the Credit Administration Manager.
* Assist in the management of delinquent consumer loans.
* Manage daily loan delinquency reports.
* Loan monitoring for expiration dates, risk rating changes, and maturing loans.
* Maintain constructive interaction with clients, and lines of business.
* Assist Credit Administration Manager in preparing the materials for Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) and Classified Loan Action Plan (CLAP) meetings.
* Assist Credit Administration Manager with quarterly reporting and ad-hoc reporting as needed.
General Duties:
* Lead ad-hoc projects and other duties assigned by the Credit Administration Manager.
* Active participation and demonstrating skills and abilities in the GRB Experience.
* Keep up to date on Bank Policies, Laws and Regulations that govern commercial lending.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business-related discipline (MBA highly preferred) plus a minimum of 3 years’ commercial banking experience in underwriting, credit analysis, loan review and/or loan workout.
* Demonstrated experience in commercial and residential loan workouts.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct financial statement analysis.
* Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage a variety of projects with deliverables.
