Job Summary
Performs a variety of administrative and engineering duties of substantial difficulty in the Drainage and Utilities area of specialization.
Apply engineering principles and practices with a minimum of technical supervision.
Administers and conducts a variety of necessary technical functions while coordinating diverse engineering efforts to ensure the timely and efficient implementation of plans, specifications, estimates, studies and reports associated with the design or construction of major transportation improvements.
Take on primary oversight for projects.
Plans and directs the activities of professional and support staff.
Minimum Qualifications
* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
* A valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Illinois is required.
* A valid Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification is required.
* Six (6) years' work experience in design, construction, or engineering studies related to transportation infrastructure is required.
* Within these minimum six (6) years' experience, a minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the preparation and/or oversight of drainage studies and in at least one (1) of the following two (2) categories is required:
(A) Stormwater management contract plans, specifications, and cost estimates
(B) Regulatory permit applications, all for transportation projects
* Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.
