Internship - Technical Architect
Description & Requirements
Launch your career in enterprise technology with a Technical Architect Internship at Maximus, where you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside seasoned architects and engineers on real-world digital systems.
In this role, you'll support architectural reviews, contribute to GenAI-driven innovations across the software development lifecycle, and help build small proofs of concept while strengthening system observability and cloud security initiatives.
You'll collaborate in team discussions, participate in project meetings, and develop practical skills in cloud technologies (preferably AWS), modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or NodeJS, and emerging coding assistants-all while building a well-rounded technical foundation in a mission-driven organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work on IT assignments of moderate difficulty under the direction of a more senior mentor to build a well-rounded skillset.
- Escalate issues and questions to management, as necessary.
- Participate in group discussions with peers or external groups to solution problems of moderate scope.
- Participate in meetings to gain process knowledge and guidance on assigned projects.
- Read, understand, and perform assignments within prescribed guidelines.
- Approach challenges and create solutions with a critical thinking and customer service mindset.
- Prepare standard reports and presentation materials.
- Architectural review existing systems
- GenAI innovations to apply in SDLC
- Assist in building small PoCs or Prototypes
- Improving Observability posture of Digital systems
- Support cloud security initiatives
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required and 0-2 years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred experience with Java, Python, or NodeJS
- Preferred experience with coding assistants
- Cloud experience, preferably AWS
