Youth Career Coach

Pay Rate: $24.11/hr

Work Schedule: Part-Time 8:00am - 4:30pm

 

This position is eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.

JOB SUMMARY:

Goodwill Staffing is looking for a qualified individual who will be engaging youth ages 16–21 in career exploration, job readiness, and employment opportunities.

In this role, the Youth Career Coach helps students understand career options, build career-readiness skills, and participate in meaningful work-based learning experiences aligned with regional workforce needs and employer demand.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Youth Engagement & Career Coaching


*  Recruit, engage, and enroll youth participants (ages 16–21) into the Governor’s Summer Job Hunt (GSJH) and other PPBEA- and PPWFC-supported youth programs to meet participation goals.


*  Provide individualized and group-based career coaching, including career awareness, career pathways, goal setting, job search strategies, and postsecondary planning.


* Support youth in developing career-readiness skills such as resume preparation, interview skills, workplace professionalism, and job application completion.


* Assist youth with job search activities and job matching by aligning interests, skills, and readiness with appropriate employment opportunities.

Career-Connected Learning & Workforce Alignment


*  Support student participation in career-connected learning activities such as classroom career presentations, informational interviews, mentorships, worksite tours, internships, and other work-based learning experiences facilitated through PPBEA partnerships.


* Share accurate and current information on career pathways, in-demand occupations, and regional labor market trends to support informed career decision-making.


* Assist students in identifying and accessing work-based learning and employment opportunities aligned with regional talent needs and priority industries.

School, Partner & Program Support


* Serve as a point of contact for students, families, educators, school staff, employers, and community partners regarding youth career programs and opportunities.


*  Maintain scheduled office hours at designated partner school locations to support student engagement and program delivery.


* Utilize the the organization’s scheduling and school engagement platform to schedule appointments, coordinate outreach, and assist students and schools in accessing career-connected learning and employment opportunities.


* Collaborate with PPBEA and PPWFC staff to support youth job fairs, employer events, and work-based learning activities associated with GSJH.
