In-Home Direct Support Professional Specialist

Job Title: In-Home and Group Home Specialist Direct Support Professional

Location: Cities Across Northern Minnesota (including but not limited to: Long Prairie, Alexandria, Burtrum, Little Falls, Browerville, Staples)

Schedule: Monday-Friday with availability between the hours of 8:30a-7:30p based on the needs of those we serve.

E/O weekend.

Wage: $20 per hour (including Full-Time or Part-Time benefits based on schedule)

 

Job Summary:


* Provide temporary support when there is a staff opening due to vacations, leave of absences, new intakes, or resignations.


* Work in our group home in Long Prairie and/or 1:1 with individuals in their own homes or their family’s home.


* Assist individuals with mental health diagnoses and/or intellectual disabilities.


* Support daily activities, including: medication administration, personal cares, cleaning, meal preparation and planning


* Accompany individuals into the community to facilitate their participation in various activities.


* Follow specific behavior plans and program goals to enhance the quality of life for those served.

Required Qualifications: 


* To be at least 21 years of age


* Proficiency in spoken and written English communication


* Have a vehicle with current car insurance


* Have an acceptable driving record as determined by Meridian Services policy.


* Successful clearance from a DHS background Study


* Ability to lift and transfer persons


* Comfortable with providing personal cares to both males and females.


* Experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities or mental health diagnosis.
