Environmental Project Manager
The County of Riverside's Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District) has an opportunity for an Environmental Project Manager who will be assigned to the Regulatory Division located in Riverside.
The Environmental Project Manager is an advanced level manager classification reporting directly to an appropriate senior level division manager position.
This classification is characterized by responsibility for the development, implementation, oversight and coordination of the environmental processes for drainage infrastructure construction and operation to ensure compliance with environmental laws, principally CEQA, California Fish and Game Code Section 1600 et seq, Clean Water Act Sections 401 and 404, and the State and Federal Endangered Species Act , and related policies and regulations, such as the Western Riverside County Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan.
Incumbents manage environmental, and/or other technical staff including consultants in establishing and implementing environmental related policies and completing environmental project or program deliverables.
Competitive Candidates:
* Demonstrated people-leadership capability (formal supervisor or functional lead), including coaching, mentoring, delegation, and supporting a culture of accountability and development.
* Proven project management skills including scoping, schedule management, risk/constraint identification with recommended solutions, quality control of deliverables, and coordination with design and construction teams.
* Advanced degree in a related scientific or planning field
This class has been deemed eligible for the Performance Recognition Plan as set forth under Article 3, Section 311 of the County Management Resolution.

The Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District 's Regulatory Division supports the construction, operations, and maintenance of the District's flood control systems.
The Regulatory Division's primary responsibility is to ensure that the District complies with various environmental regulations such as CEQA, AB52, CWA Sections 401 and 404, California Fish and Game Code Section 1600, MBTA, and the State and Federal Endangered Species Acts.• Provide project management support on an array of technically complex projects related to drainage, biology, cultural resources, water ways, chemical management, geology, archaeology, air quality, stormwater quality, hazardous waste, spill prevention, hydrologic data collection, paleontology, and storm and wastewater.
