Transportation Designer
Ardurra seeks a Transportation Designer to join our team in Phoenix, AZ!
This position is to work in an Arizona Office (Phoenix, Mesa, Flagstaff, Tucson, Cottonwood) but depending on the candidate’s years of experience a hybrid work assignment could be considered.
Primary Duties
As part of our Arizona team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the growing Ardurra family in our Transportation Engineering Practices.
You will be working directly under a Licensed Engineer supporting our company growth in Arizona and a wide variety of exciting transportation projects throughout the region.
* Develop technical design elements, plans specifications, quantities, and cost estimates for Local Public Agency (LPA), ADOT, MCDOT and Federal funded projects that include the following elements: geometric design, horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange configuration, and ADA Improvements.
* Produce construction documents that include typical roadway sections, plan and profile drawings, removal plans, detail sheets, erosion control plans.
* Provide technical support to fellow team members preparation of erosion control plans, drainage plans and profiles, utility plans, traffic signal plans, pavement marking plans, and signing plans.
Education and Experience Requirements
* BS in Civil Engineerng or related field is preferred but not required.
* 5+ years of experience working in Microstation/OpenRoads
* 3+ years of experience working as a transportation project designer
* Ability to apply design standards from a variety of different agencies
* Ability to learn and apply in-house CAD drafting standards.
* Ability to develop plans efficiently and accurately.
* Thorough understanding of roads and streets, drainage and utility design
* Good written and oral communication abilities and interpersonal skills
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
* Must be highly organized, self-motivated and meticulous with details
* Local Arizona experience is desirable but not required.
