Sr Counsel - Contracts

Description & Requirements

We are seeking a Contracts Attorney to support the review, negotiation, and drafting of RFP responses, contracts, and related agreements while identifying and mitigating legal and operational risk.

In this role, you will partner closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams-including privacy, compliance, finance, and insurance-to provide practical, business-focused legal guidance and support organizational goals.

The ideal candidate is a JD-qualified attorney with 3+ years of relevant experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and a collaborative mindset with an interest in process improvement and innovative contract management solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, negotiate, and draft RFP responses, contracts, amendments, subcontracts, and related legal documents, ensuring risk identification and mitigation strategies.
- Advise business partners and management on legal and operational risks, providing practical solutions aligned with company policies.
- Represent the contracts function in meetings, clearly communicating legal concepts and risks to diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with privacy, compliance, finance, insurance, and other business units to support organizational objectives.
- Assist in developing and improving contract policies, procedures, and compliance measures to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues, contributing to a culture of respect, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in contract management and risk mitigation.
- Manage priorities and resources to meet assigned goals and deadlines.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management, General Counsel or Associate General Counsel.

Minimum Requirements

- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to one or more State Bars is required.
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across contracts and business operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to management and business partners.
- Solid analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience contributing to process improvements and innovative solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to participate in planned corporate travel up to twice a year.
