Sr. Supervisor, Accounts Payable

Job Description

The Senior Supervisor, Accounts Payable, is responsible for overseeing critical AP operations, including invoice processing, timely vendor payments through scheduled pay cycles, and the Supplier Confirmed Receivables (SCR) Program.

This role serves as a trusted advisor throughout the organization and key Accounts Payable expert, ensuring system accuracy and efficiency.

In addition to daily operational oversight, this leader will play an integral role in shaping and designing the future-state AP processes as part of AutoZone's new ERP system implementation.

Responsibilities



* Ensures accurate and timely invoice processing and vendor payments in alignment with company policies and financial controls.


* Serves as the subject matter expert in SAP Accounts Payable processes, leveraging system capabilities to optimize workflows and supports automation initiatives.


* Oversees AutoZone's Supplier Confirmed Receivables (SCR) program and ensures Merchandising vendors are paid accurately and on time
Identifies and drives process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and support scalability.


* Defines, tracks, and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team performance and process health.


* Mentors and develops team members, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous learning.


* Plays a critical role in the design and implementation of AutoZone's new ERP system, ensuring Accounts Payable requirements are fully represented and integrated.


* Leads and develops three (3) direct reports

Qualifications



* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field


* Minimum of 3 years of professional management experience


* Minimum of 3 years of Accounts Payable experience


* Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills


* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills


* Experience with SAP S/4HANA is a plus


* Experience with PeopleSoft is a plus


* Ability to manage competing priorities and meet constant deadlines


* Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Verbal)


* Ability to succeed in a team environment
