Electrical Design Engineer – DCS QVE

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Electrical Design Engineer to support Quality Value Engineering (QVE) initiatives within our Data Center Systems (DCS) product line.

The role focuses on optimizing electrical designs for performance, cost, manufacturability, and sustainability, while maintaining compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:



* Lead and execute QVE projects to enhance product value through cost reduction, design simplification, and component optimization.


* Analyze existing electrical designs of DCS products and identify opportunities for improvement in terms of cost, reliability, and performance.


* Develop and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs using industry-standard CAD tools.


* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Quality to implement design changes.


* Evaluate alternate components and suppliers to support cost-out and supply chain resilience.


* Support sustaining engineering for existing DCS products (UPS, PDU, STS & battery Cabinets), including issue resolution and design updates.


* Ensure compliance with relevant data centre standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, UL, NEC) and internal design protocols.


* Conduct VAVE Workshop and generate ideas for Product Improvement and Cost reduction (Cost-out)


* Basic understanding on Electrical Product / raw Material costing.

Understand Direct cost and Indirect cost


* Participate in design reviews, FMEA, and root cause analysis for field failures and quality issues.

Maintain accurate documentation and manage design changes through PLM systems.

Qualifications:



* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering


* 8-10 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in data center infrastructure, 3Phase UPS, power distribution units (PDUs), rack-level systems, or electrical panels.


* Strong understanding of electrical components, circuit protection, power distribution, and grounding systems.


* Experience with QVE, value engineering, or cost optimization projects.


* Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design tools.


* Familiarity with PLM systems and change management processes.


* Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
