Registered Nurse/Clinical Educator, Operating Room

JOB SUMMARY:

As a Registered Nurse/Clinical Educator, Operating Room, you'll play a vital role in assessing and improving staff competencies, providing professional guidance, designing education programs, serving as a clinical expert, and contributing to research and quality improvement efforts.

Your responsibilities include:


* Competency Assessment and Management:



* You're responsible for assessing and managing the competencies of nursing and support staff, ensuring they meet the standards required for optimal patient care.


* Continuously monitoring methods for improving patient care is integral to your role.

Professional Guidance and Role Modeling:


* Serving as a role model, you provide clinical and professional guidance to staff, helping them navigate ethical decisions in practice.


* Your actions and decisions set the standard for ethical practice within the organization.

Education Programs:


* You design and implement education programs tailored to the needs of patients, staff, and the organization.


* These programs aim to enhance clinical skills, promote best practices, and align with organizational goals.

Clinical and Professional Expertise:


* You are both a clinical expert at the bedside and an educator in the classroom, blending hands-on experience with theoretical knowledge.


* Your expertise serves as a valuable resource for staff seeking guidance and support in their clinical practice.

Research and Quality Improvement:


* Participating in independent and collaborative research activities, you identify opportunities for quality and performance improvement.

Experience: 3 years in specialty area of practice, in acute care setting.

Education: BSN required in Nursing Education or related field.

Masters in Nursing, Education preferred.

Licensure/Certifications:



* Current California RN license


* AHA BLS certification


* AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, and AHA NRP certification


* LA City Fire Card certification within 30 days of hire


* ANCC certification in specialty area preferred
